DESCRIPTION
Introduction
The hike to the Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain takes you to a group of mountains naturally colored by minerals, displaying shades of red, green, and yellow. Along the way, you will see local villagers in traditional clothing, llamas and alpacas adorned, as well as spectacular views of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain. One of the most striking attractions is the Stone Forest, a geological formation over 50 million years old. During the rainy season, even the nearby river can turn reddish, creating postcard landscapes that have gone viral on social media. This route is accessible for all ages and does not require great physical effort, making it an excellent option for families or those who do not want to do long hikes.

We start our adventure early in the morning by picking you up from your accommodation in Cusco. We will head towards the south of the Sacred Valley, to the province of Canchis.

We will stop at the town of Quiquijana to enjoy a typical Andean breakfast and recharge energies before continuing to Palcoyo.

After breakfast, we head to the starting point of the hike, near the Palcoyo viewpoint at over 4,800 meters above sea level.

We will begin a gentle hike of approximately 45 minutes through impressive Andean landscapes, surrounded by colorful mountains, llamas, and alpacas. Our guide will share valuable information about the geology and culture of the area.
